Their love was subtle but felt as powerful as a hurricane, and it was displayed in the most grandiose of styles. Capturing and experiencing their love for each other as a photographer was a worth every minute and seconds.

The destruction of Cotton Tree

On May 25 2023, Torrential rains in Sierra Leone’s capital felled the centuries-old Cotton Tree. We captured photos and videos we took from the site, and compiled a short montage.

The event, held at Port Loko Mini Stadium, received unprecedented support in Port Loko, with a jubilant and enthusiastic crowd braving the rains to support the initiative. Cultural and traditional processions from diverse groups set a vibrant tone for the momentous event.
